Washed ashore; a new journey begins:
After being abused by the hands of the Corporation and surviving the long boat ride to this place, her body was in agony, pins and needles; her own energy was turned against her, sending electrically impulses sporadically on her nerve endings. She was a ticking time bomb and she knew it, soon the pulse would be too strong…. The “boat” if one could call it that was more like a raft, a flat surface with a make shift sail. It had been a rough and dangerous ride out at sea, the waves crashing and tumbling the small craft beating at her already bruised flesh, draining what energy she mustered just to hold on as the storms and waves crashed over head during the night, and crashing on the beach days later.
The only saving grace to her mind was that she was away from the soldiers and she also knew her pack mates were here somewhere, her faith in them absolute that they had made it to safety. She needed to find shelter and regroup. She made it past the sandy dunes, the crash of the ocean a soft roar in the back of her mind. The flimsy wrap that covered her chest and waist, was wet and glued to her form thanks to the ocean, the attire made her sick to her stomach as the memories flashed before her eyes. Bare feet touched the lush green foliage that covered the land, a vast contrast from the itchy sand to the silken leaves, she made it a few more feet, her vision dimming, she reached out to steady herself, her fingers outstretched to a large tree, before exhaustion won out and she crumbled to the ground, the energy rating reaching it’s critical stage.
The electrical pulse grew in volume, the radiation glowing from her skin, creating a bright purple halo around her body. The sparks that was her aura; her energy connected with the living plants that she rested on, the two energies merging forming a bond. Vines slithered and reached for Aleria, entwining around her, under her as the glow from her body was glowing brighter. To shield and protect, the vines wrapped and twisted and dragged Aleria’s body to a large befallen tree, into the hollow cavern it created, just as the energy reached its critical mass, expanded and detonated. Sheltered, hidden from view. The mass amount of energy it seeped from her pours, the ground absorbing the shock waves. The electrical current raced through the vines and roots, creating a surge of growth. The ground rolled and yawned spilling new life, the trees grew taller, the leaves unfurled, flowers opened, bloomed, radiated with color and abundance, when beneath the surface, the energy surge raced from one root to the next.
in her mind’s eye, she could see the underground map, how each plant was its own but wasn’t, they were all connected, they all “felt” they were alive.
She was dreaming, or thought she was as her mind soared taking in the imagery, the feeling of being warm, alive, connected to all. She could feel the animals, she had a sense of them eating, napping. It was exhilarating to see and feel so much as once.
Five Days Later: She awoke happily, slowly the blackness around her vision decreased. She wrinkled her nose at the smell of the dank wet cave she found herself in, grunting she crawled out of the opening and was met with an abundance of flowers and their fragrance. Several trees bore fruit and nuts. At least she wouldn’t go hungry, she thought. As she ate until her stomach was full, she thought about what she had dreamed and smiled as the vines wrapped around her toes in greeting. So she hadn’t been dreaming. She could still feel all that was around, and she smiled more as she had thought she had felt the presence of her family. She graciously left more energy to the plants below whispering a plea to please watch for them.
